To assist your choice, we offer a flexible pricing structure for the use of Sole Street House, which covers everything from an evening or half day event to a three-day weekend, and allows full access to this historic residence and to its 10 acres of garden and grounds, including the renowned treehouse, tennis court, croquet lawns and woodlands.
Our Services: A Choice Of Options
The House
If you wish to take care of all your arrangements yourselves, we offer a “house only” charge based on the hire of the house by the day, which covers the hours between 10 am and midnight. For this we offer the full use of Sole Street House and grounds, allowing you to hire in the items you require.
We provide a full bar service, but you may choose your own caterers, furniture,
portaloos, entertainers, florists, food, drink, furniture, marquees, etc. We have a list of
recommended suppliers, which you will find on this site, and we are happy to discuss those we recommend.
The House and Staff
For super-busy people or those who live at a distance or overseas, our premium service is our comprehensive and fully bespoke option, in which we take your instructions and cater for all your requirements, using our tried and trusted suppliers and contractors who regularly work at Sole Street House and know the set-up well. We undertake to organise at your discretion your marquee, caterers and catering, your drinks and bar arrangements, your florist and decorator, your choice of music and entertainment and any other details, working closely with you to ensure that you have all you wish for on your special occasion, and nothing less nor more than you desire.
Whatever your thoughts, we are happy to welcome you to Sole Street. With many years’ experience in personal and ceremonial celebrations, we look forward to discussing your requirements, and quoting for your event.
Prices
Our charge for 2012 is £2600 per day, which gives full access to the house, tree house, garden and grounds from 10 am to midnight. Please note that depending on the size of your event, the delivery of catering and other items, followed by their collection when the event is over, will normally mean that it runs over three days. Time spent in the house and grounds on either side of the day itself will be charged at our standard rate of £150 per hour, payable in advance.
Our prices for 2013 will be £2750 for a full day event, £950 for half a day, and £165 per additional hour. Please ask us to quote for unusual or shorter events.
Half day and evening charge
You may also enjoy the same terms for a half day, evening or special event, permitting the same access to the house, tree house, garden and grounds during any six hours between 12 noon and 11 pm. Our rate for a half day, evening or special event booking is £900.
Events Mid-Week
Depending on your plans, we can offer a reduction for events or treehouse ceremonies which take place Monday to Thursday. The same applies if you wish to hire the treehouse, garden and grounds only for a mid-week ceremony or reception, with no access to the house except as back up in the case of bad weather: please enquire.
Deposit
We require a deposit of half of the total charge on booking, and half not less that a month before the event. Please note that the deposit is non-returnable in the event of cancellation.
Damage deposit
We also ask for a damage deposit of £500, payable in advance which is fully refundable after your event if no incidences have occurred. Details of this will be sent to you along with your booking form.
Registrars' Fees
A fee is payable to Kent County Council for two registration staff to celebrate and register your marriage, civil partnership or other ceremony. Once you have booked with us, we will pass details of your booking on to the Registration Office. They will then contact you directly to arrange payment and discuss your ceremony in depth. Please note that registrars’ fees are paid directly to the Registration Office of Kent County Council - see their official website
