Hire of the venue

 

The fee you pay is for the hire of Sole Street House and grounds only, allowing you to hire in the items you require to suit your own tastes and budget. This includes; food, drink, furniture, porta-loos, entertainers, florists, marquees, etc. We have a great list of recommended suppliers, which you will find on this site. Although we do not insist that you use these suppliers for all your wedding extras, we do ask that you use one of our recommended caterers who regularly work at Sole Street House and know the set-up well.

 

Sole Street House makes no charge to you for corkage, so you are welcome to bring in your own table wine and reception drinks free of charge. You also have the option to have a free bar or alternatively, you can hire in one of our recommended bar companies to deal with this for you.

 

Claire and Abbie, Sole Street's Event Co-ordinators, are available to help you with your plans. They work on a 15% commission basis and can arrange pretty much anything you require. They will also be there on your 'big day' along with Sole Street's owners; Rosalind and Robin, to ensure it's smooth running and to look after you and your guests.

 

 

Prices for 2009/ 2010

 

            The charge for the hire of Sole Street House, gardens and grounds for the day of your civil celebration from 10 am to midnight (conditions apply when your numbers exceed 100) is £2450/ £2950. We can also offer you a half-day rate Monday to Thursday of £1500/ £1950 (6 hours). We are happy to discuss your requirements and are very flexible in order to meet your needs. Please note we make no charge to you for admission for any rehearsals in advance or for you setting up the day before or collecting items the day afterwards.

 

 

Registrars

 

            A fee is payable for two registration staff to celebrate and register your marriage. Once you have booked with us, we will pass details of your booking on to the Registration Office. They will then contact you directly to arrange payment and your ceremony in depth, The venue, or “Approved Premises”, in this case Sole Street House, is not involved with this.

Booking

 

We require a deposit of one third of the total cost to be paid on booking, one third to be paid three months before the event, and one third not less than one week before the event. Please note that the deposit is non-returnable in the event of cancellation. We also ask for a damage deposit which is fully refundable after your event if no incidences have occurred, details of this will be sent to you along with your booking form.
